About Brain Injury
A brain injury can instantly change your life. The brain is fragile and once it is damaged, there can be devastating consequences.
Common Causes of Brain Injury
Many brain injuries are caused by the following:
- Road traffic accidents
- Assaults
- Accidents at home
- Accidents at work
- Sporting injuries
- Brain haemorrhage/Stroke
- Medical Negligence
Brain injuries can be described as "minor" and move on to being described as "severe". However, it is important to note that what others may describe as a minor brain injury, may well lead to devastating effects on that person. That's the thing with brain injury, it affects everyone differently, reflecting the complexity of the brain itself.
These are all in their own right traumatising events that are difficult to overcome. Medical help is of course invaluable but you may find that such help is not a solution and you may have to learn to live with the new you. It is always important to remember, YOU ARE THE SAME PERSON - JUST DIFFERENT.
