Courses

As part of the weekly Drop-In session brain injury survivors can join one of our short courses. Whether you are looking to enhance existing skills, try something new or build your confidence these courses are here to help you.
Courses will typically consist of 4 - 6 weekly modules and are held at the Kingsgate Community Centre.

Coming Up

Rehab to Work Project - Autumn 2012
The first round of our Rehab to Work project proved so successful that the course will run again starting Autumn 2012. The course involves 6-8 weekly sessions of 2 and a half hours per session. Topics covered in the course include:
  1. Pre injury work experience and qualifications
  2. Highlighting needs and areas of support required
  3. Time management and diary-keeping
  4. Abilities skills talents
  5. Hopes and plans
  6. Study vocational work including voluntary work, training etc
  7. Creating a CV and biography
  8. Discussions on Disability and abilities
  9. Identifying difficulties and hurdles in a work environment on how to overcome them
  10. Applying for Work, including interview techniques, rejections
  11. Mentoring and job coaching
  12. Statutory Benefits and earning your salary
  13. Permitted work and Therapeutic earnings rules
  14. Possible assistance with placements

Computer Skills

Tony Palluotto delivered this excellent introductory course on computer skills. There were loads of great tips and a chance for everyone to work on the skills they wanted to learn.

Managing Your Money

This 6 week course was delivered in partnership with the Camden Citizen's Advice Bureau and the Mary Ward Legal Centre in September and October 2010. The course was well attended and gave us lots of useful information to help manage our finances.
