Drop-in Service

The drop-in service offers tailored and practical support to anyone with a brain injury, as well as family members or carers of brain injury survivors. It is designed to complement our Helpline service - 020 7372 4477 - by addressing those needs we cannot help with over the phone.

What can you expect if you drop-in?

  1. Practical information about brain injury, treatments and support services
  2. Sign-posting to local rehabilitation services, return-to work services, health care services, social services, legal services, medical services and alternative therapies
  3. Assistance to complete forms and applications
  4. Someone to talk to
  5. Support and practical help with making an important phone call, writing a letter or email
  6. Resource library and general information

Whilst we will do our best to meet your needs, it is important to note that the drop-in CANNOT:

  1. Provide medical advice and diagnoses. Volunteers are not medically trained
  2. Provide legal advice, although we can point you in the direction of legal services
  3. Provide counseling. A volunteer can be a friendly ear, but they are not trained counsellors
  4. Give information on children's brain injury. We are a service for adults only

Who can drop-in?

Adults, family members and carers of people who have suffered a brain injury that was sudden in onset and occurred after birth can use this service. This includes traumatic and acquired brain injuries, such as strokes, infections and a lack of oxygen to the brain.

When can you drop-in?

The drop-in service is open on the second Monday of every month, between 1.30 and 6.30pm. You don't have to make an appointment, you can just come along!

How much does it cost?

The drop-in service is FREE, but we do encourage service-users to become members of Headway North London.

The drop-in service is run at the Headway North London office, near Finchley Road. The address is:

Headway North London
