Our trustees

Colin Shieff
Colin is the Chair of the group and a neurosurgeon. He has been involved with Headway for many years and has, as is evident by his role, a great deal of knowledge and professional expertise regarding the treatment of those with brain damage.

Julie Bridgewater
Julie is the Vice Chair to the group and herself a survivor of a brain injury, following a road traffic accident in 1988. Julie has been involved with Headway for many years and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Headway, in December 2004, during Headways Silver Jubilee year. The award was in recognition of her achievements and committment to Headway North London. Click here to read Julie's story.

Jill Greenfield
Jill is secretary to Headway North London. She is a solicitor and deals with claims involving injuries of the utmost severity. She is partner and head of the brain and spinal injury units within the personal injury department of Field Fisher LLP. Jill was nominated pro bono lawyer of the year and is currently campaigning for victims of terrorism.

Other board members

Jackie Murin
Jackie is a brain injury survivor and has worked with the group since 1994. On 25th November 1990 she was a passenger in a vehicle involved in an RTA and suffered a severe brain injury and other serious orthopaedic injuries. She was in a coma for 3 weeks. Jackie is alway keen to encourage others with similar problems to encounter new experiences and not to feel isolated. Headway has helped her to build friendships and to socialise with others. Before the accident Jackie had trained as a nanny in Canada and was about to embark on a career as a dental nurse.

Charlie Head
Charlie is an investment manager at Rathbones, providing specialist investment advice for recipients of personal injury awards and their legal representatives to ensure they are able to enjoy the best possible quality of life without compromising their financial security. Charlie joined the Board in June 2020 and is already providing both practical help and a positive, encouraging approach .

Daniel Forsythe
Daniel is a project manager and gardener in his day job and first started to help at Headway North London in 2006. Daniel is heavily involved with Headway North London, working closely with the trustees, board members and other volunteers to plan services, make funding applications and implement improvements. Daniel also maintains the website and prepares the monthly e-newsletter.

Sarayna Bilboa
Sarayna is a public sector accountant working as Finance Officer at an international organisation which promotes peaceful settlement of disputes. Sarayna has been volunteering with Headway North London since 2009 and provides invaluable support with the charity's banking, accounting and reporting responsibilities, ensuring bills are paid and our statutory submissions are made on time.
